Master’s Student Professional Development Fund
Presenting in developmental conferences and seminars is important to master’s students’ growth as professionals, and is relevant experience for all career paths.
Master’s students presenting in professional development conferences or seminars whether in person or virtually, can apply to the Division of Master’s and Professional Programs for up to $500 to cover registration costs, travel, and accommodation expenses through the Master’s Student Professional Development Fund. Students MUST be presenting in order to be eligible and all master’s students, including students studying fully online or in low-residency programs, are encouraged to apply.
All applications and associated documentation must be submitted online through UFunds. Failure to submit a complete application could result in delays in receiving the approved amount.
List of documents to submit:
- Proof of conference registration
- Email confirming your registration
- Receipt of conference registration
- Proof of Presenting at the conference
- Email confirming you are presenting at the conference
- Abstract of paper of poster you plan to present
- Travel and Accommodation
- Travel ticket receipts for any of these options: Bus, Airplane, Train, Rental Car (Please note for car rentals, we do not cover parking costs, miles and gas fare. We will only cover the cost of rental vehicle.)
- Accommodation reservation invoice/receipt: Hotels, Airbnb, Inns, VRBO.
Given funding limitations, an application does not guarantee support. Some departments may have independent funds to support such travel; students should check with their Director of Graduate Study (DGS) of their department for more information.
